I wish every Black American would have a chance to live overseas.
I have lived in Africa, Germany, Dubai and in many Caribbean Countries. America with all its flaws is indeed the greatest country on Earth, because in the U.S. you can achieve anything if you are willing to educate yourself, work hard and have a positive attitude and a loving disposition.
We as Black Americans must stop blaming everything on others for our challenges as a people. Here are the facts:
72% of black children are born out of wedlock and are raised by single parent homes. That number was 22% in 1960.
Black women make up 7% of U.S. population and are having 40% of the abortions.
I was born to a 17 year old call girl. They tried to abort me several times. I did not know my father. I attended very under performing public schools. Two of my three uncles as role models were heroin addicts and one went to
prison. I grew up around gun violence and gang activity. I grew up in a churchless home.
Here’s what allowed me not to become a statistic of the inner city:
1. I was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ which taught me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.
2. If God be for me, who can be against me?
3. I refused to see myself as a victim of circumstances.
4. I refused to see myself as a minority.
5. I understood education was the key to economic emancipation and there were no chains or barbed wire around the libraries. I read a book a week on great servant leaders and on science.
5. I saw that in America if you really tried to help yourself, people of all races and colors would also try to help you.
6. I made my first million dollars as a young businessman at age 28. First thing I did was to put my sister and other relatives through college.
We must stop looking at ourselves as helpless perpetual victims.
As a man thinks in his heart so is he. The first thing I taught my sons is that they can become anything they dream they can be, that they have the ability through God to call forth those things that be not as though they were. I’d rather light a candle than to sit around and curse the darkness.
Jews are 1% of the U.S. population and I never hear them call themselves a minority.
Life is not fair. It’s not fair that birds eat the worm — ask the worm.
Yes, there are inequalities, racism and corrupt systemic problems, but I still have a choice to be a breeder of children only, or a leader of a family. I still have a choice to be a winner or a whiner. I still have a choice to see myself as a victor or a victim.
Today because of God, everyone in my family has been saved and educated. Everyone owns their own home, has at least a masters degree and are involved in the inner city helping to change the heads, hearts, hands and habits of our black communities.
Let’s take back our communities from the gangs, and the lack of parental involvement in the public schools. Let’s stop blaming others for things we must take responsibility for as a people.
With God all things are possible.
